Bio

Jennifer McVeigh is a Chicago-based fundraising professional serving as Director of Donor Engagement at Block Club Chicago, the city’s leading nonprofit newsroom dedicated to neighborhood-focused journalism. In her role, she leads major- and mid-level giving strategy, donor stewardship, and long-term relationship-building in support of community-powered, independent reporting across Chicago’s neighborhoods, working closely with donors, newsroom leadership, and editorial staff to align philanthropic support with high-impact journalism and to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth.

She brings experience across a range of philanthropic sectors, including higher education, museums and food banks. Originally from Northwest Indiana, Jennifer graduated from Purdue University, where she studied history and anthropology, and she is a recipient of a U.S. Congressional Medal for community service, reflecting her deep commitment to strengthening local journalism and civic life in Chicago.
